Bringing together leaders from across the globe, the summit’s robust programming spans five key challenge areas: healthy energy systems; inclusive economic growth; sustainable communities; land and ocean stewardship; and transformative climate investments. NRDC plays a major role in developing the agenda, and past speakers include John Kerry, 68th U.S. Secretary of State, and conservationist Robert Irwin.
This year’s conference will focus on building resilient societies and achieving the Global Goals. Attendees will recommit to the Paris Agreement on climate, explore innovative approaches to financing development goals, and discuss how technology can be leveraged to create safer, more inclusive economies.
This year’s event will address the global pandemic crisis by highlighting the importance of strengthening local vaccine production in the Global South. A collaboration with our partners at FIND, ICMR and Unitaid, the Summit will highlight a growing network of vaccine producers in the Global South, including Brazilian biotech firm Bio-Manguinhos/Fiocruz. These local production hubs enable faster, more agile response to disease outbreaks and build a global community of vaccine donors.
